A Special Education teacher and committee chair in Gwinnett County for many years; Ms. Delephia Riley takes her role seriously and pours into her students as if they were her own.  Outside of her scope as an educator, she willingly mentors, tutors, and teaches the sometimes “underserved” life skills to prepare them for post-high school. 

As a parent of a special needs child myself, I’ve noticed how Ms. Riley figuratively dissects each student Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.) to ensure the goals are being met and the teachers provide the skills that are needed to achieve them.  She is an advocate and positions herself as an effective team member within the student; parent and administrator partnership. 

Ms. Riley regularly attends training and development workshops to further her knowledge, skills and understanding of the special education field.  She creatively intertwines her experiences and knowledge in her individual approach to every student
